Locale Island Eats will be opening this spring at Halidom Eatery, an upcoming food hall in East Atlanta.

The new concept with an island theme features chopped-style meats, such as oxtail and jerk chicken, all created with owner Taylur Davis’ homemade marinades.

“We’re looking to do a bowl concept, all chopped meat, nothing on the bone, realizing it’s a lot easier for the customers to be able to get up and go, not get their hands as messy,” Davis told What Now Atlanta.

Halidom Eatery is slated to open this spring. In addition to 11 food stalls, it will include a 30-seat upscale bar, an event area and an outdoor green space. There will be indoor seating for 320 guests and outdoor seating for 123 guests.

Located at the IST Management headquarters’ base, the eatery is the inaugural phase of a mixed-use domain, Halidom, which will also have residential and retail space.

IST Management Services President and CEO Hal Blackman spoke with What Now Atlanta last fall about the vision for Halidom Eatery.

“I wanted to develop something that was special, that was based on bringing something to the community that was different, something that was peaceful, a place for people to get along,” Blackman said at the time.

Other concepts recently announced for the food hall include Mad Dads Philly’sPress Waffle Co., Mango Indian Grill and a yet-to-be-named Mexican street food concept from the owners of Zocalo.
