The Avalon location is the first-of-its-kind outdoor mobile kiosk for the French pastry franchise across its network of approximately 70 locations nationwide, according to a press release Tuesday. The opening follows the co-owners’ debut of their first Le Macaron in North Point Mall in October 2019.

With just about 90 square feet of space, at 2200 Avalon Boulevard, the Amundsen’s Le Macaron kiosk serves eclairs, tarts, mini-tarts, napoleons, gourmet chocolates, meringues, cakes, and specialty beverages including Lorina, a sparkling French lemonade, in addition to its wide selection of macarons. It is positioned behind The Plaza and in front of Regal Cinemas.

“Following the success of our full-service café in Northpoint Mall, we are excited to launch the very first outdoor kiosk design for the whole brand nationwide,” Lisa Amundsen said in the release. “We worked with Le Macaron’s corporate designers and builders to make this our very own unique space at Avalon and wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. We look forward to sharing the new kiosk design with our fellow franchisees nationwide.”

Popular macaron flavors include Madagascar black vanilla, Belgian chocolate, Sicilian pistachio, red velvet, rose, bubble gum, salted caramel, lemon cream, and Columbian coffee. All macarons are hand-made with no artificial flavors or preservatives by Chef Didier Saba who was born, raised, and trained in France.

Chef Didier’s team makes all the macarons with almond flour, so they are naturally gluten-free and only about 80 calories each. Chef Didier also handcrafts assorted other pastries including eclairs, napoleons, lemon meringue and chocolate coconut tarts, and full-sized cakes for special occasions.
