The 'old-school' barbershop has out-grown its existing space.

Freedom Barber Co., an “old-school” barbershop that offers “modern services,” is relocating its 400-square-foot Paris on Ponce market stall to the forthcoming SPX Alley development (the retail portion of Studioplex’s Phase II.)

Owner Michael Sponsel launched Freedom Barber Co. July 20, 2016, and has been met with great success.

“We have been on Episode 7 of the Netflix series ‘Queer Eye’ and have won two ‘Best Barbershop In Atlanta’ awards which have catapulted our business into fantastic growth within a short period of time,” Sponsel in an email last week told What Now Atlanta.

Freedom Barber Co. is set to open its new home May 2018.

“Our new storefront will be a classic barbershop look and feel while keeping the modern vibe of mixed materials such as pallet wood, brick, steel, and concrete,” Sponsel said.

“The new location will be larger, with more availability to carry out our vision of supplying the people of Atlanta with great cuts, shaves, beard trims, and above all, a wonderful stress-free environment and experience as well as doing non-profit events once a quarter, giving back to Atlanta.”

SPX Alley, situated on the ground-level of The Residences at Studioplex, will also be home to concepts like Butter & Cream, The James Room, and Atlanta’s first MADabolic.
