The boutique gym franchise will be situated in the second phase of StudioPlex, at 659 Auburn Avenue NE, according to Abby Closs, the franchisee bringing MADabolic to Atlanta.

StudioPlex is welcoming the gym alongside several new tenants this year including the recently-announced Butter and Cream.

“Old Fourth Ward is magnetic and pulled me in,” Closs Friday told What Now Atlanta in a telephone interview.

“The vibe, the boldness. Old Fourth Ward is just perfect from a lot of different angles.”

Situated in a 3,700-square-foot space along the Beltline, MADabolic Atlanta will offer its proprietary interval driven strength and endurance program in 20-person classes.

Closs and her husband John come from a background of health and wellness.

Closs has been working with Kind Bar for nearly five years while her husband is in business development for Wahoo Fitness.

The couple moved to Atlanta a year-and-a-half ago, fell in love with the city, and “wanted to put down permanent roots.”

“Now that I’m a mom, I didn’t want to travel anymore. I have a 15-month-old and I’ve always wanted to open my own business.”

Closs is looking to open MADabolic early summer, 2018, pending the permitting process with the City of Atlanta, she said.
