While the restaurant was required to close its dining room on March 19 by City order, Slutty Vegan is now waving its right to keep serving takeout and delivery.

“As of today, Tuesday, March 24, 2020, Slutty Vegan is closing to ALL customers (no walk-ups or online orders) until Tuesday, April 7, 2020,” a spokesperson in an email Tuesday told What Now Atlanta.

The move is in response to City of Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms’ 14-day “stay at home” order that goes into effect at midnight tonight and is also set to expire April 7.

“Your support for Slutty Vegan ATL remains overwhelming – in any other context, this wouldn’t be an issue,” Owner Pinky Cole said in a prepared statement.

“As the city increases its guidance for social distancing, we will comply.”

News of Slutty Vegan temporarily shuttering arrives right in the middle of The Great American Takeout, a social media movement encouraging Americans to order food in support of the restaurant industry.
