A permit was filed to bring the The Salty to 1034 Howell Mill Road NW in West Midtown. It will be part of Star Metals District, a mixed-use project from developer Allen Morris Co.
“The Salty will be coming to the Star Metals Residences building across from Star Metals Offices in the Star Metals District,” said a spokesperson for Allen Morris. “Star Metals District is situated in Atlanta’s hottest new retail and dining district and the epicenter of Atlanta’s newest wave of urbanism, West Midtown.”
The Salty will take roughly 1,400 square feet. The buildout could cost $500,000, according to the permit.
Two other Atlanta locations of The Salty are planned in Buckhead and at The Krog District, as What Now Atlanta reported late last year.
Amanda Pizarro and Andy Rodriguez founded the concept, initially operating out of a vintage camper in Miami’s Wynwood district.
It now has six locations open, according to its website, with several more in the works in cities including Charlotte and Tampa.
The Salty offers a variety of doughnuts, such as a brown butter and salt.
“With artful attention to detail and using nothing but the finest ingredients, we push the boundaries of what a donut can be, while offering a unique coffee menu deliberately refined to connect you to every sip,” says the company’s website.
Pizarro and Rodriguez didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
