The Aguirres also filed permits to buildout the new space in the Beacon Atlanta. An estimated $180,000 will be spent constructing Patria Cocina, according to the filing.

The Aguirres announced the new restaurant back in December 2016, with plans to serve “California-influenced traditional Mexican cuisine.”

The couple spoke with What Now Atlanta when the new restaurant was first uncovered.

The menu will focus on classic Mexican dishes prepared with more traditional methods, steering away from the cheesy, greasy Tex-Mex stereotypes.

The couple plans to make all food on premises with fresh ingredients on a daily basis.
