Founder George Malagón and Partner/Chef Leo Carrasco have inked a deal to open the restaurant, bar, and events venue, at 543 Flat Shoals Ave SE, the duo exclusively shared with What Now Atlanta.

The space, an “old dormant eyesore,” was home to Asylum (and Ice House before that).

Malagón and Carrasco are keeping the Crazy Atlanta name “so people will recognize the brand.”

They will serve classic Americana street food “with a twist,” alongside beer, wine, and specialty cocktails.

Crazy Atlanta EAV joins the company’s original outpost, at 182 Courtland Street since 2015, and will be the second of many planned future locations “worldwide.”

“The Crazy concept will be nurtured and developed here in Atlanta and we will proudly carry what we started here to the rest of the world within the next five years,” Malagón said.

“We have partnered with an events production team here in Atlanta and we look forward to bringing not only some of the most interesting and refreshing menus to EAV, but we also look forward to providing a space professionally run for private events as well.”

Dogwood Restaurant Consulting Group is handling permitting for Crazy Atlanta and is expected to submit an application for its buildout before the end of July.

The opening is scheduled for December 2019.
