The Victorian, a plant shop with the “mission of providing education and inspiring the community to cultivate their own green collection,” has landed on a May 2021 opening timeline for its delayed East Atlanta Village storefront, according to a press release this week.
Situated at 1336 Glenwood Avenue SE in a 100-year-old, 2,370 square-foot home, the plant shop will open in collaboration with Bellwood Coffee as The Victorian Atlanta x Bellwood Coffee.
The Victorian was founded in 2017 by husband-and-wife duo Cary Smith and Libby Hockenberry.
They opened their first location within Citizen Supply, a small business marketplace in Ponce City Market that recently relocated into a stand-alone store located between J.Crew and West Elm on the ground floor of the market.
“We’ve spent countless hours hanging out in various establishments in East Atlanta Village and we love it — it feels like home,” Hockenberry said in the release. “East Atlanta has a vibe we want to be a part of and it’s very different from Ponce City Market. We’ve found that so many of our customers live in or near the neighborhood, so it feels like the perfect spot to open our second shop. We’re looking forward to spending many years here and can’t wait for all the new customers and friends we’re going to meet.”
The Victorian Atlanta x Bellwood Coffee will offer both common and uncommon desert and tropical species, along with hand-mixed soil blends, a range of planters, including pieces made by local ceramic artists, and plant accessories.
In addition to its traditional product offerings, the new location will offer education about plants, in-home and in-store plant consultations, and repotting services. Customers will be able to sip on a seasonal Bellwood Coffee beverage while perusing the offerings or take a seat in the cafe area.
Starting this May, The Victorian will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday through Sunday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Bellwood Coffee will be served Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
