The menu at Butter + Scotch, a new full-service restaurant from husband-and-wife duo Malik Rhasaan and Detric Fox-Quinlan, will be inspired by Queens, New York, with Bermudian and Jamaican influences.
Butter + Scotch will be located in the Origin Hotel, a 124-room hotel going into an adapted office building in South Downtown. The hotel is expected to be complete in 2024.
“It’s the perfect partnership, as it brings something that downtown Atlanta is missing,” Fox-Quinlan told What Now Atlanta via email. “Every Origin hotel across the country is a beautifully designed boutique hotel that adds an additional WOW factor to that specific city. The Origin Atlanta with Butter + Scotch will be something the city truly has never seen before.”
The restaurant is targeting an early 2024 opening.
“Butter + Scotch will be where the North and South collide,” Fox-Quinlan said. “We love Atlanta. Raised our children here, and think we do an amazing job reflecting what it’s like to have a business here in the city. Atlanta is home, and we’re building a legacy here, starting with Che Butter Jonez, and now Butter + Scotch, which is a Che Butter Jonez company.”
Che Butter Jonez began in 2018 as a food-truck business before expanding into a brick-and-mortar location in southwest Atlanta. The restaurant is known for menu items like lamb burgers and chicken pitas, as well as breakfast sandwiches like the pastrami, egg and cheese.
