Sacred Yoga — stylized as “{SACRED Yoga}” — opened Saturday, January 22, 2022, on Georgia Ave. in Summerhill, the company announced this week. This is the second locally owned, community-based studio from Owner Annelise Kristoffersen, who “approaches yoga as a lifestyle and not just a workout.”

“We are a creative vinyasa studio with a full range of classes to make yoga accessible for more humans,” Kristoffersen said in a press release. “We are excited to continue to thrive in Atlanta after nine years of offering yoga in a city we love.”

Beyond flow classes, the schedule includes yin, restorative, meditation, and sound baths as well as classes for vaccinated and non-vaccinated guests. In February, it will add kids and prenatal options.

Georgia Avenue in Summerhill, a historic street in a revitalized neighborhood south of downtown Atlanta, is reminiscent of a small town. It offers a reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the city and is home to a unique mix of restaurants, brewers, purveyors, creative retailers, small businesses, and more.

“We are excited to welcome Sacred Yoga to our expanding array of businesses along Georgia Avenue,” Jack Murphy, senior director at Carter, the Atlanta-based real estate firm that is developing Summerhill, said. “This is our first opening of 2022 and just one of many much-anticipated openings to come that will add to the flavor and excitement of the neighborhood.”

Sacred Yoga is the second business to open in Summerhill in recent days following the debut of How Crispy Express earlier in the week.
