Owner Justin Karam — who is also opening a high-end retail store in Buckhead — recently purchased the building formerly home to Zinburger Wine & Burger Bar, Atlanta Business Brokers’ Driss Senhaji told What Now Atlanta Thursday in an email, with plans to open Red Pepper in its place.
Senhaji represented the buyers and Alan Shaw of The Shopping Center Group represented the seller.
The stand-alone restaurant space near Perimeter Mall, at 4555 Ashford Dunwoody Rd., was home to Zinburger up until June 2020 after a short two-ish–year stint. Not too far away, the burger chain closed its Lenox Square location too.
Red Pepper Taqueria has been in business since 2012 and has grown to locations in Brookhaven, Buckhead, and North Druid Hills. Chef Mimmo Alboumeh who was one managing partner of the restaurant in mid-2020 parted ways and is now operating Botica by Chef Mimmo which replaced Watershed on Peachtree.
[Correction: an earlier version of this article stated that Mimmo Alboumeh was a former co-owner in Red Pepper Taqueria. Alboumeh was managing partner.]
