Botica To Replace Watershed Under Direction of Former Red Pepper Taqueria Owner

Chef Mimmo Alboumeh's new restaurant will arrive in November serving a menu inspired by the street taco scene, with flavors that originate from Spain and Mexico.

Chef Mimmo Alboumeh is opening Botica in the old Watershed space, at 1820 Peachtree Rd NW., which earlier this year was put on the market for $250,000. Botica is set to open sometime in November with unique and original recipes. Alboumeh previously operated Red Pepper Taqueria but has since no longer been associated with the establishment.

According to Eater Atlanta, Alboumeh’s new Botica dishes are inspired by the street taco scene, with flavors that originate from Spain and Mexico. Having grown up in Spain, Lebanon, and Italy, he’s using flavors he’s familiar with. Although some of the items he created at Red Pepper Taqueria are supposedly being implemented into all-new recipes. If you want brunch, you can also stop by for bottomless mimosas.

The unfortunate COVID-crisis, like with many other restaurant owners, made Alboumeh rethink Botica’s set-up, which now places a greater focus on a more spread-out outdoor seating arrangement, including a 100-seat patio canopy. Before returning to the restaurant game with Botica, Alboumeh began delivering food to Atlanta shelters and the LGBTQ community during the pandemic.
