Co-founders, Sophia Marchese and Reid Trapani, created Happy Seed in 2018 as a catering company, according to the restaurant’s website. The company has grown over the last few years as they transitioned into local pop-ups hosted at venues around Atlanta.

The new restaurant, called La Semilla, will be housed in the Modera Reynoldstown development alongside two other tenants, Envegan, and Clean Juice, according to Eater Atlanta’s report. This location will also have a covered patio in which guests can enjoy their food.

La Semilla, much like Happy Seed, will focus on serving Latin-based dishes with a modern twist. The menu will include popular items from their pop-up, such as a crunchwrap filled with seitan beef and nacho cheese, squash empanadas, and other Latin favorites. A statement on the company’s website states, “La Semilla carries Happy Seed’s intention of celebrating local, organic ingredients and forward-thinking fare with deeply rooted dishes made plant-based, all from scratch.”

What Now Atlanta has reached out to the owners, Marchese and Trapani, for more details about La Semilla and will update the story accordingly.
