“We’re finishing up our buildout process,” Marchese said. The restaurateur is working with architect David Heimbuch. “The restaurant is designed to be a plant-based oasis…open and inviting, airy yet intimate.”

La Semilla’s bar sits at the center of the space, surrounded by walls washed in earth tones, pops of color, and plenty of lush plants to match the menu. Across its dining room and covered patio, the restaurant will seat 75.

“Currently we are very hopeful for a late July opening, however we will have an official opening date soon,” Marchese said.

La Semilla will be a full-service vegan restaurant offering Latin-inspired. The menu, designed by Chef and Co-Owner Reid Trapani, highlights locally-grown ingredients with dishes inspired by the cultures and cuisine styles of Latin America.

The beverage program features small batch producers with a focus on agave and sugarcane spirits, natural and biodynamic wines, and local beer. The flagship concept by Parent Company Happy Seed, La Semilla aims to offer a “forward-thinking approach to dining without sacrificing satisfaction and familiarity and is the genesis of a mission to unite hospitality and the possibilities of plant-based cuisine.”
