The restaurant, which replaced Common Quarter in early 2017, is part of Unsukay Concepts, parent company of Muss & Turner’s Smyrna, Eleanor’s, Local Three Kitchen & Bar and Warhorse Investments.

“After nearly a year of giving it our best shot with the daily efforts of a committed team, we have made the difficult decision to close our East Cobb location,” Ryan Turner, a partner at Unsukay, said in the release.

“We feel honored by the amount of support we have received from loyal fans and are grateful to have forged such incredible relationships with these neighbors.”

While the East Cobb location will permanently close, the Muss and Turner’s Smyrna location will remain open.

“Dining patterns among the East Cobb market varied significantly from our Smyrna location and unfortunately just didn’t prove a financially viable model for our concept. We look forward to focusing our efforts on our thriving Smyrna location and continuing to serve great food to our friends and neighbors in the community. We sincerely hope our East Cobb friends will venture to our original location to visit with us often.”

Turner and his team hope to “retain as much of the staff as possible across our other restaurants.”

For those individuals Unsukay does not have positions for, the restaurant group is working with industry friends to help find opportunities so that no one gets left behind.

  1. Unbelievable that East Cobb cannot support Muss & Turners. Everyone I know in East Cobb complains about the lack of restaurants, but they can’t support a place with great high quality sandwiches? Guess they should open an O’Charley’s in its place.

  2. I’m not surprised this folded, but I *am* surprised it closed so soon. The Smyrna location was much better, if not only for Eleanor’s.

  3. Although the concept has done well in other locations, having no customer base in East Cobb they made a major real estate mistake with their location. Opening up on the side of a grocery store anchored strip center with no visibility not only to Johnson Ferry but really to nowhere it was hidden behind Starbucks and the other fast food chains. I liked M&T and also Common Quarter, the issue was not the food, because of their location they were out of site out of mind.
