Steve Josovitz of The Shumacher Group brokered the transaction and said the Marietta Square offers a diverse mix of restaurants and retailers, as well as strong daytime traffic from the nearby courthouse, which many suburban locations can’t offer.
“A lot of restaurants don’t open for lunch or on certain days of the week because there’s no traffic,” Josovitz said. “So here you basically have breakfast, lunch and dinner traffic seven days a week. Additionally, you have a very high density of middle to high income homes within one, three, five miles, of which that customer base adds a lot to the business.”
Josovitz said McCray is planning to turn the 2,700. sq.ft. location into a “craft bar and restaurant.”
The space is already stocked with mostly brand new appliances from dishwashers to ice machines, as well as new heating and air conditioning units, POS computer systems and other necessary equipment.
Josovitz said the vibrant atmosphere at the Historic Marietta Square is a great place to open a business and he believes McCray will be successful in his new location.
“Scott McCray is a proven strong operator,” Josovitz said. “He’s never closed a McCray’s Tavern. Anything Scott McCray opens is going to be successful and this location on the Marietta Square is phenomenal.”
McCray on Tuesday did not immediately respond to What Now Atlanta’s request for comment.

Except Selig just razed an entire block of great businesses, now the project is defunct. And they offer us one little restaurant. Typical terrible demo planning for developers,
