JoJo’s Beloved Cocktail Lounge, an “era-inspired cocktail escape,” will grand open Friday, July 23, 2021, according to a press announcement this week.
Located inside the recently-opened Politan Row food hall at Colony Square, a hidden door in the back of the food hall “transports guests to a secret cocktail lounge that pays tribute to the 1970s and 1980s.”
JoJo’s Beloved Cocktail Lounge was conceptualized from the vision of Politan Row’s Beverage Director Sophie Burton as a “surprise addition” to the group’s latest 20,000 square-foot food hall Politan Row at Colony Square that opened in June.
“Inside, guests are greeted with a brooding and romantic atmosphere that mixes late 70’s disco with notes of 80’s futurism that wind their way through every aspect of the space,” according to the announcement. The lounge features cathedral-height ceilings, vintage-inspired burgundy booths, and a seven-inch thick pink marble bar with gold foiling in between each layer of stone.
Additionally, JoJo’s boasts an all-vinyl soundtrack of ‘70s and ‘80s tunes that is curated each night by the Maitre’D from an expansive vinyl collection that was directed and hand-selected by Ms. Burton.
Behind the bar, Burton has planned a list of retro favorites she refers to as “oft maligned” — think blue drinks, fuzzy navels, and Midori sours. The cocktail menu includes drinks like the funky Bluetsy Collins with Weber Blue Agave Tequila, slightly-spicy blue cordial, cocktail foam drops, topped with Topo Chico; and the Sagittarius Sour, a play on a Midori Sour with Singani 63, Midori, Bianco Bitter, lemon juice, simple syrup and Fee Foam.
For the wine program, Burton has curated an era-inspired wine list featuring time capsule wines like chablis and merlot and a section highlighting the power of bubbles.
JoJo’s Beloved hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 4 p.m.to midnight, inside Politan Row food hall at Colony Square at 1197 Peachtree St. NE, Suite 150.
