The location at 3240 S Cobb Dr SE, formerly a Supercuts, will be in The Crossings at Four Corners shopping center, making it an ideal spot for the chain sandwich shop, Franchisee Michael Stepter told What Now Atlanta.

“I’ve been working with the landlord for awhile to get into this intersection. We’ll be the first Jersey Mike’s with a Smyrna address,” Stepter said. “The Kroger’s a great anchor. It’s one of the busiest Krogers in the state of Georgia. Great location, a lot of flourishing businesses around.”

Permits are complete and the lease is signed. Construction will begin at the end of August with a projected opening date of December 1, 2023. Renovations include adding an air-conditioning unit, a grease trap, and other add-ons necessary to comply with both Jersey Mike’s and city regulations.

“We’re taking that empty space and converting it to a restaurant. That’s why it takes about three months,” Stepter said.

Stepter is also the owner of Jersey Mike’s at 1721 Powder Springs Rd SW in Marietta. He said he plans to open more locations in the Peach State. They plan to get started on a Cartersville location in summer 2024, and after that, Kennesaw.

Jersey Mike’s has grown to more than 2,000 locations across the U.S. since it began in Pleasant Point, New Jersey, in 1956. The sandwich franchise’s signature “juice” dresses up subs with a red wine vinegar and olive oil blend.
