The Springs Cinema and Taphouse, formerly the LeFont Sandy Springs Theatre, will soon premiere “the city’s only” heated luxury recliners.

Brandt Gully, a resident of East Cobb and financial advisor to more than 100 theatre operators across the country, purchased the 41-year-old theatre, at 5920 Roswell Road, Suite C103, in November 2017.

As part of a plan to significantly renovate the theatre Gully renamed the property The Springs Cinema and Taphouse.

“One thing that we won’t be changing at The Springs is the quality of the films,” Gully said in a prepared statement.

“LeFont was always known for great movies, and we plan to maintain that while expanding the programming to incorporate more family films and alternative programming to include throwback movies, classics and special screenings. The great movies will still be here; we just want to give you a better atmosphere to enjoy them.”

The first phase of the renovations should be completed by the end of May 2018 including the heated and reserved seating, upgrading the sound system, replacing and enlarging the screens, overhaul of the restrooms and a new air conditioning system.

The lobby remodel—updated with all new finishes, self-serve ticket kiosks, a completely rebuilt concessions area with enhanced food offerings, and the addition of a full bar featuring craft beer, cocktails, and wines—will be done in the fall.

A grand re-opening that will showcase the entire renovation will take place in shortly after in late-2018.

As a co-founder and partner at investment banking firm, EFA Partners, Gully helps entertainment companies and theatre owners raise capital to buy, renovate or build theatres and sell their companies.

So when George Lefont, a former client of EFA, expressed some interest in selling this Sandy Springs landmark, Gully jumped at the opportunity.

“The growth and revitalization of this community is amazing, and we want to be a part of it.”

“Our goal is to implement some of the concepts that I’m seeing others successfully do around the country to make this a neighborhood theatre of which the community will be proud.”
