The store is planned for 5111 Holly Springs Road in Pendergrass, according to construction plans. The city is in Jackson County.

Dollar General is a discount retail chain headquartered in Tennessee. Documents indicate the Pendergrass store will be a DG Market, the brand’s food-focused concept giving customers “a fresh way to save every day.” The markets offer produce, refrigerated and frozen goods, dairy products and fresh meats. The store would be 10,640 square feet.

What Now Atlanta reported earlier this year that a DG Market location was also proposed for Griffin.

According to the construction documents, the team behind the development is an affiliate of Sullivan Wickley, an Atlanta-based real estate company focused on commercial property development, acquisition, leasing and management in the Southeast and Midwest. The company manages a portfolio of retail centers and has completed more than 200 projects, mostly in Georgia.

Construction bids for the new store are due May 22, 2024.
