According to construction documents, the store is planned for the town south of Atlanta at a 1.5-acre site at the corner of Armstead Circle and N. Hill Street.

Dollar General is a low-cost retail chain headquartered in Tennessee and with thousands of locations across the U.S. The store sells groceries, beauty products and household items. According to the company, 80 percent of Dollar General stores are in communities of 20,000 or fewer people.

The new Griffin store would be more than 10,600 square feet. Sketches indicate signage for DG Market, the brand’s grocery-focused concept with more produce, refrigerated and frozen goods, dairy products and fresh meats.

The team behind the Dollar General project appears to be Sullivan Wickley, an Atlanta-based real estate company specializing in commercial property development, acquisition, leasing and management. Founded in 1999, the company oversees a portfolio of retail centers and has completed more than 200 projects, mostly in Georgia, according to a site map.
