Pemberton Café, most recently known as Far Coast Café, will open in the Spring of 2010. Unveiled in 2007, Far Coast’s open-air pavilion was designed in three south-facing sections and consists of an extensive greenroof. Coke’s answer to “premium brewed beverages” — located between the Georgia Aquarium and the new World of Coca- Cola.

Far Coast Café offered the Coca-Cola Company’s new range of freshly brewed beverages, which launched a new brand as well as a new business model. As part of an international launch of its new Far Coast brand, the Coca-Cola Company recently opened the doors of four concept cafés offering tea, coffee and infusions – brewed fresh by the cup. Located in Toronto, Canada; Singapore; Oslo, Norway; and Atlanta, Georgia, these hubs showcase the brand and introduce consumers to a world of experiences – adventures by the cup.
Still to early to tell, rumor has it that a company outside of Coca-Cola purchased the space and is reopening with new intentions. The focus for Pemberton Café will be quick bites, sandwiches, coffee and dessert.
A beautiful and environmentally conscious building on the 5-acres of green space that Pemberton Place offers, Pemberton Café should do well with Georgia Aquarium and The New World of Coca-Cola visitors.

So it can be gathered by the fact that they closed that this was not a profitable venture for Coke in Atlanta? I wonder if their other locations are still brewing. That’s pretty embarrassing if they couldn’t make this work in their own backyard.
I actually liked that place. It was expensive and full of tourists but had a nice vibe. And the architecture. I would love a outdoor/indoor cafe like that in Piedmont park.
