Grand Hyatt Buckhead Renovating Floor by Floor

With The Mansion Hotel In Foreclosure Just Blocks Away, The Grand Hyatt Plans to Splurge on Flat Screens

Beginning in May 2010, the Grand Hyatt Buckhead will undergo transforming renovations and remodeling. Hyatt Hotels first purchased the 25-story Buckhead property in 1997, originally Hotel Nikko, where the property was converted to its upscale Grand Hyatt brand. May 2010 will mark the second major reconstruction.

The focus for the remodel will primarily be on the guestrooms. Insiders within the hotel suggest that guestroom floors will be renovated in batches of three to four. Travelers who frequent the hotel often have no need to fret as the Grand Hyatt will remain open during this process. As the reconstruction progresses, the revamped rooms will be made available to guests. Having yet released any details, specifics on the upgrades are unavailable at this time. However, the prevailing upgrade will be the installation of HD flat screens in each room—a grand entrance into the 21st century.
