Citing job listings found online which were confirmed by a company spokesperson, ToNeTo Atlanta reports that both locations are due to open by year’s end. Incidentally, both locations will be taking over spaces once occupied by hot chicken concept, Joella’s.

A representative of Whataburger did not immediately return What Now Atlanta’s request for comment.

The news comes a little more than a month after Whataburger opened its first location in Covington, helmed by multi-unit franchise operator Made to Order Holdings, LLC, which currently has another nine Atlanta area locations in the works for 2023, with plans to open more than 50 over the next seven years.

Founded in Corpus Christi, Texas in 1950 by shipbuilder-turned-restaurateur, Harmon Dobson, Whataburger prides itself on being “the hometown hamburger place that hasn’t compromised,” serving “bold flavors and original recipes made to order” while fostering “extraordinary hospitality and meaningful connections in our communities.”

Today, the restaurant boasts more than 900 restaurants across 14-states.
