Cupcake shop takes Sweet Pockets space in Cobb County
CamiCakes, the cupcake confectionery with a location in Buckhead, is opening their second Atlanta-area location in Vinings.
An employee at the Buckhead location confirmed with What Now Atlanta over the phone Wednesday the Vinings location is expected to have a soft opening July 18 and a grand opening celebration “tentatively schedule for July 31.”
Taking space at 4438 Paces Ferry Road belonging to the now shuttered Sweet Pockets, CamiCakes will open between Yoforia yogurt and SunTrust Bank.
Listen folks, we’ve had these sinfully delicious cupcakes before — it’s worth the trek.
Founded in Jacksonville, Fla., CamiCakes is now headquartered in Atlanta. With two locations in Florida, the Vinings store will be the cupcake shop’s fourth location.

Sweet Pockets was a good thought but CamiCakes blows them out of the water!!! Now I can drive right around the corner instead of going to the Buckhead location.
Sweet Pockets was no way better than CamiCakes!! I tried Sweet Pockets and was very unhappy with the service and the cupcake. It was very dry and the frosting was not up 2 my standards. So when I say CamiCakes is coming look out people because u will b n for a treat of ur life. And I mean that. Thank u Lord for this wish!!!!
Sweet Pockets cupcakes were overpriced for the size and the cake was dry, crumbled and had no flavor. I welcome CamiCakes to the neighborhood.
YAY! I love CamiCakes! Sweet Pockets was very disappointing…small, dry cupcakes with horrible icing and not so friendly service. Welcome to Vinings CamiCakes!!!!
