Representatives for the Top Chef judge confirmed the news in an email to What Now Atlanta but did not have any additional details to share outside of the ABC’s thoughtful report.
By George will be situated in the historic Candler building, at 127 Peachtree Street NE, in a 3,000-square-foot space.
It is slated to open late-summer 2019 inside the new Candler Hotel which is part of the Curio Collection by Hilton; an on-going conversion of the historic building by Highgate.
By George will serve lunch, dinner, and all-day caviar service with a choice of tea, coffee, or champagne.
“Open for three meals-per-day, By George will feature pure classic cuisine with a worldly feel, largely influenced by traditional French cooking,” according to a landing page for the restaurant on the hotel’s website.
“At his other outposts, Acheson is well known for using locally sourced ingredients with flair and passion, and By George will be no different. To match Acheson’s food will be an extensive wine program helmed by accomplished sommelier Steven Grubbs and keen cocktails from the talented hands of Kellie Thorn.”
It will be Acheson’s fifth restaurant in Georgia joining Empire State South, two Spiller Park Coffee outposts (Toco Hills and Ponce City Market), and Athens’ Five & Ten.
