Marshall’s-anchored strip mall property to get urban face lift.
Coro Realty is planning to break ground on Buckhead Place, a new mixed-use development close to the corner of Peachtree and Piedmont, according to Curbed.
The development will be adjacent to Disco Kroger, which is getting ready for its own Extreme Makeover, Development Edition.
Currently, the shopping plaza features a Marshall’s, Pier 1 Imports, and LA Fitness. The new project will boast a Hampton Inn and Suites, 170 residential units, and 20,000 square feet of retail space.
Hampton Inn and Suite’s proposal for the site includes an 8-story hotel that is sized at 136,582 square feet. This includes a 26,722 square foot underground parking garage, 5,643 square feet of shell space that includes a future restaurant and retail, and 104,217 square feet of 186 guest rooms.
The project is a more scaled-back development from what was originally proposed for the site.
Construction is slated to commence in the next few months.
