The new eatery brings a fusion of African and Portuguese influences, with a menu centered on the Peri Peri spice sauces originating from the African bird’s eye chili pepper. With an emphasis on customization, diners craft their own dishes tailored to their preferences, with a focus on using fresh, wholesome ingredients for those seeking healthier dining options.

The 5,000-square-foot space is located at 280 Luckie Street. The main level offers a menu with Portuguese-inspired, flame-grilled cuisine paired with sides uniquely customized with any of six distinct signature sauces derived from the spicy, garlicy, tangy, lemony Peri Peri spice. Peri Peri is Swahili for “pepper pepper.”

The second floor of The Peri Peri Grill features a gathering space available for business meetings, special events, after-work gatherings or celebrations such as anniversaries and birthdays.

Noman Mirza, Amir Jeelani, and Sohail Lakhani are the minds behind the concept.

“We are really blessed to open The Peri Peri Grill in downtown Atlanta for a multitude of reasons,” Jeelani said in a press release. “Whoever comes we will greet wholeheartedly because we want people to experience Peri Peri Grill’s embodiment of cultural fusion and the culinary journey wrapped in a welcoming, gathering place for our guests.”

The Peri Peri Grill has another location at 11720 Medlock Bridge Road in Duluth. Both locations are open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Catering and to-go is available from both locations.
