Pickup location to open in former Walmart space in Tech Square.
What Now Atlanta tipsters have been noticing that signage is going up at the forthcoming Amazon@GeorgiaTech pick-up store in Tech Square.
The location is underway and plans an end-of-July opening, with grand opening events scheduled for around the beginning of Georgia Tech’s fall semester in August, an Amazon rep told WNA this week.
The outpost will be located inside the former home of Walmart at 86 Fifth Street NW on the Georgia Tech campus.
The first location of its kind in Georgia, Amazon@GeorgiaTech will offer Midtown and the campus community a convenient location in Tech Square to pick up and return Amazon orders, including from everyday essentials to technology.

Damn, that Wal-Mart didn’t last long did it?
Do not like this idea at all! This is about 10 miles from my home, and with Atlanta traffic being what it is, it will take me half a day to send an item back. I much prefer dropping off returning items at the nearest UPS or USPS.
