Schoolhouse Brewing: The Gymnasium will occupy 4,164 square feet in the Druid Hills shopping district, and is located in Suite 240 next to The General Muir, at 1540 Avenue Place.

Middle school teachers turned business owners Justin Waller and Thomas Monti opened their first location for the brewery in Marietta to combine their shared love of brewing and teaching, according to the release.

“We loved the idea of expanding with our second location for Schoolhouse Brewing at The Point,” Waller said. “There’s plenty of foot traffic from locals and college students who live in the neighborhood and there aren’t many competing breweries nearby. With the relaxed atmosphere and supportive owners, The Point is the perfect location for our customers to come together for a good time and good beer.”

As with the original Marietta outpost, this new location will be a place for beer enthusiasts to not only taste beer but also to learn about and gain tips on the brewing process.

“We are excited about expanding our business to Atlanta and building a sense of community with the people and establishments at The Point,” Monti said. “We offer 20 rotating draft beers, meaning guests can try something new every time they visit.”

The new sports-themed brewery, complete with 12 televisions airing all the current sporting events, will offer a variety of beer and wine as well as an array of games, live music and special events.

“With Gables Emory Point Residences, Emory University and other booming businesses within a mile of the property, our growing center is the ideal location for Schoolhouse Brewing,” William Gervin, VP of Leasing for ShopCore Properties, owners and operators of The Point, said in the release. “By choosing a locally owned concept to add to our tenant mix, we’re elevating our offerings at The Point, while expanding our reach across this unique community. As our first brewery on property, we are excited to welcome locals, college students and all beer lovers to the property.”
