“We submitted paperwork for reopening to the City of Atlanta last Thursday, and when we hear back from them we’ll reopen in 14 days as soon as we’re allowed to,” Richard Thomas, the owner of the 24/7 restaurant, told What Now Atlanta (WNA) in a telephone conversation Monday.

Renovations to the kitchen and roof are still being made, but the repairs to the tune of $18,000 won’t hold up the process regardless of when the restaurant gets the green light to reopen.

“We hope to hear back very soon and reopen sometime during this month,” Thomas continued. “It will definitely be by the end of the year at the latest.”

Thomas has owned and operated R Thomas Deluxe Grill for 30 years since it opened in the fall of 1985.
