The Atlanta-based commercial real estate firm this week filed plans with City of Atlanta to develop land where the yet-to-be-named 17-story high-rise will be constructed.

An estimated $2,024,814 will be spent readying the land where a Burger King, Design Within Reach and an antique store are situated, for the 262-unit tower. The project calls for a total of 272,688 square feet with an additional 6,361 square feet of ground-level retail space.

The Peachtree Hills high-rise stalled getting off the ground when the neighborhood pushed back, taking concern with a number of issues including historic preservation (the antique store is in a “historic” structure), building height, and site density.

In January, Branch reached terms in neighborhood meetings “to reduce the height of the building from 21 stories to 15 and reduced the amount of retail space from 30,000 square feet to 15,000,” according to Buckhead View’s coverage earlier this year.

Branch Properties did not return What Now Atlanta’s request for comment.
