In early December, the building’s western wall began to crack and eventually collapsed during construction of an adjacent four-story mixed-use building. Edgewood Dynasty had been scheduled to replace The Sound Table less than two days after being forced to evacuate the building.

“As the owners of Edgewood Dynasty we look forward to reopening ASAP and are very thankful that the bricks are now being replaced,” Edgewood Dynasty owner Greg Johnson said in an email to What Now Atlanta. “This was a tremendous setback, but my wife Noelle and I are looking forward to opening the supper club style casual upscale dining experience that former patrons of The Sound Table have come to expect.”

Building owner Wilnan LLC couldn’t be reached for comment on the filing or Edgewood Dynasty’s future at the historic building.

Johnson told What Now Atlanta in December that Edgewood Dynasty “will do everything we can to get through this very unfortunate situation.”

Submitted by Stuart Erkes of Hussars Construction, this week’s permit filing lists a cost of construction of $110,000, records show.

In December, the Old Fourth Ward Business Association launched a GoFundMe page to raise money for Edgewood Dynasty. It has received $9,205 out of a listed $25,000 goal as of writing.

Edgewood Dynasty has planned to operate at 483 Edgewood since The Sound Table announced it was closing last fall. The newer business is owned by two longtime patrons of The Sound Table, husband-and-wife duo Johnson and Noelle Taylor, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported following the October announcement.

The duo also owns dessert bar Cake, A Social Bar at 485 Edgewood Ave. and has plans to open a health and wellness establishment just above, AJC reported.
