The free-standing restaurant is proposed for 3625 Dallas Highway in Marietta, according to construction documents. Plans indicate that the location will have a drive-thru, a bar and patio dining in addition to the main dining area.

The Jim ‘N Nick’s menu includes barbecue meats like pork, beef brisket, turkey and chicken, as well as sandwiches, burgers and sides.

Jim ‘N Nick’s President Brian Lyman told What Now Atlanta the new location will hopefully be open by the end of this year, early 2025 at the latest.

“West Cobb should be great,” he said. “Atlanta’s been a very healthy market for us.”

According to the company website, there are 18 Jim ‘N Nick’s locations in Georgia, including an existing one in Marietta (3420 Sandy Plains Road) and a recently opened one in Warner Robins.

Jim ‘N Nick’s was founded in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1985. The restaurant can also be found in Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Atlanta‐based private equity firm Roark Capital Group acquired the Southern barbecue brand in 2017.
