Mavis Tires & Brakes is proposed for 646 Veterans Parkway in Barnesville, a city south of Atlanta. The site is located next to Waffle House and Budget Inn. A vacant structure at the property used to be a Huddle House, a casual breakfast chain restaurant.

The one-story building would be about 6,700 square feet and include a showroom, a service area and tire storage areas, according to construction documents. The plans indicate space for eight vehicle bays.

Mavis Tire has more than 1,400 locations across the U.S., including nearly 40 around metro Atlanta. In addition to selling tires, other services offered include oil changes, brake checks, inspections, alignment checks and more. “We have not only been saving customers money on tires, but we’ve been keeping your vehicle running smoothly for more than 70 years,” reads the company website.

Mavis Tire is headquartered in Millwood, New York. The company has acquired several other auto brands over the years, growing its footprint across the U.S.

Construction bids for the new Barnesville shop are accepted until May 17, 2024.
