The project from Chicago-based AMLI Residential is in the works off Interstate 285, with one apartment building at 1400 Lake Hearn Drive topped out, one retail building standing, and other residential buildings and parking structures in development, Urbanize Atlanta reports.

According to AMLI, the apartments will offer “high-end finishes, spacious floor plans, covered parking, and modern amenities.” The current timeline shows that first move-ins are expected in late summer 2024.

The apartments will be mostly one-bedroom units, according to Urbanize Atlanta.

In total, the 21-acre project is expected to include 630 apartment units across four mid-rise buildings. Some of the commercial spaces will feature patios, and one building is set to include a drive-thru, according to the news outlet. The property also includes several acres of greenspace and walking trails.

The site for AMLI Brookhaven is located near the “Pill Hill” medical district and the Medical Center rail station, a stop on MARTA’s Red Line.

Brookhaven approved the rezoning of the property for the project in 2020. Work has been underway for more than a year, after a vacant former Cox Enterprises office building at the site was razed a few years ago.
