Clean Eatz is set to open at 3975 Holcomb Bridge Rd. Construction is slated to start on March 15 with a tentative opening set for April 29, said franchise owner Nancy Glass during a phone interview with What Now Atlanta on Friday. The café will be open for two weeks before the meal plans are offered.

Clean Eatz mission is to “provide a positive, welcoming, friendly, comfortable, non-judgmental and motivating environment for everyone.” The aim is to help customers make healthy choices that fit their lifestyle and reach or maintain their goals.

“Our delicious meals are designed to help you meet your goals for a healthy lifestyle at an affordable price,” Glass said.

The goal is to give the customer the tools needed by preparing properly portioned sized meals with a balance of protein, carbs, and fats.

“(Food) is the fuel you put in your body,” Glass said. The better and more nutritious the food, “the better you feel and the more alert you are.”

Clean Eatz Peachtree Corners will offer a café, “Grab ‘N’ Go” options, weekly meal plans, and catering.

The café menu includes healthy snacks (breaded cauliflower in buffalo sauce and “good for you” nachos), “build a bowl” options that allow the customer to choose (base, protein, veggies, sauce, and spice), salads, burgers, wraps, smoothies, and kid-friendly options.

Grab ‘N’ Go meals (frozen pizzas, family meals, etc.) let customers stock up for every meal of the day.

For meal plans, depending on how many meals the customer orders, prices range from $6.10 to $7.60 per meal. Nothing is locked in, Glass emphasized, only two email reminders are sent out and people can decide whether or not they want the meals that week.

The food is tasty, healthy, and balanced, she said. Special orders (concerning allergies, diabetic friendly, or gluten-free choices) can also be accommodated.

“You don’t have to go to the grocery store and take all that time in figuring out all nutritional information,” she said. “We just simplify it (and do it for you) … We take out all the guess work.”

It’s like a personal chef, she said, it gives the customer the time to do more of the things they enjoy rather than worrying about what’s on the label at the grocery store or what’s for dinner after a busy day.

Glass is looking forward to really getting to know her customers and understand their own health goals.

“Clean Eatz is a community,” she said.

The same goes for her future employees. She wants them to feel acknowledged and rewarded, as well as passionate about helping others.

“I want to create an environment that is different than what most people think about when working in a restaurant,” she said. “If someone believes in you and believes in your talent, then you’ll thrive (both professionally and personally) … Every morning you’ll be excited to put your feet on the floor and start your day.”

The store already has hundreds of sign-ups for meal plans and will likely be creating thousands every week, Glass said.

Everything is measured out on a scale, so they can be as precise as possible.

Before joining Clean Eatz, Glass worked for many years in corporate development and training for a prestigious cosmetic brand.

“I absolutely loved my job… The company was fabulous at finding and developing talent,” Glass said. “But I knew I had a calling in my life… I knew it was under the umbrella of helping people, that’s passion of mine.”

After meeting so many people through her work, she realized she had a knack for understanding people and what they want out of life.

Wanting to own her own business and work for herself, Glass connected with a franchise consultant who, after getting to know her, pitched the idea of Clean Eatz.

She’s always led an active lifestyle, from running marathons to competitive horseback riding to hang gliding.

“I love to be outside and love to try new things,” she said.

During her time in the corporate world, she would remember driving home at night and being tired and hungry.

“I just wanted food,” and sometimes the easiest option was the worst choice (health-wise), she said.

“Usually something fried,” she joked.

Glass liked the idea, but wanted to do her due diligence. She attended “discovery day” and spoke with the founders, Don and Evonne Varady. She spent weeks getting to know the ins and outs of the business, spending time with other franchise owners and visiting other cafes.

“I did all of that before finally pulling the trigger,” Glass said. After researching Clean Eatz, “I realized this was exactly what I was looking for.”

She signed the Clean Eatz franchise agreement in December 2019. Then it was “off to the races” to find the right location. She worked with The Shumacher Group, a restaurant and commercial real estate broker firm in Atlanta, and had only been searching for a few months when the COVID-19 pandemic hit.

“COVID kind of took my breath away for a minute,” she said.

Watching so many restaurants struggle was a bit worrisome, she said, but Clean Eatz didn’t miss a step. In fact, business started to pick up, she added.

“Their model was (already focused on) ready to eat meals and meal plans,” so the company was able to continue serving customers, she explained. Also, “the pandemic has shown us the important of clean and healthy eating… People wanted to adapt to that.”

After a bit of searching, they found perfect location in Peachtree Corners

“The community is amazing, the city is very involved, and the lifestyle fits,” Glass said.

Residents are already interested in the business, she said, people have been asking her about Clean Eatz (and the opening timeline) and following the new café on social media.

Although there will be a bit of a learning curve in certain areas, she’s “200% confident” about this new venture.

“I’m so excited,” Glass said. “Every day I envision talking to customers and working with the staff and being in the community. This is my dream and (I want to ask customers) ‘How can I make your dream come true?’”
