Chef Jae Choi partnered with Chef G. Garvin to open Jinbei West, today – Friday, September 23 at Peachtree Corners Town Center (5170 Town Center Blvd., Suite 410). The new restaurant will be a sister location to Smyrna, Georgia’s Yakitori Jinbei – Choi’s first foray into the culinary industry that’s known for Korean cuisine with a Japanese twist and menu items like Okonomiyaki, Korean fried chicken, sushi, ramen and more. Jinbei West will serve an elevated version of the Smyrna menu, with offerings like an Omakase experience at the sushi bar, in a larger space and updated atmosphere.

Choi has teamed up with G. Garvin – the cookbook author with a 35 year culinary career – in this new culinary journey to offer his take on Japanese and Korean cuisine to more diners across the Atlanta area. The team of restaurateurs is expanding the Yakitori Jinbei experience with a new name while creating a stand-alone, dining experience through the execution of the menu, guest experience and ambiance.

Jinbei West’s menu will incorporate Yakitori Jinbei’s signature dishes alongside new, reimagined fare and sushi menu. The kitchen will serve fresh, made-from-scratch dishes alongside a selection of sushi rolls. Guest favorites from chef Choi’s Yakitori Jinbei, like Korean Fried Chicken, ramen bowls and sushi rolls, and more will appear alongside complementary additions.

“G. has been my friend and unofficial partner for years as I’ve looked to him for advice about navigating the restaurant industry,” said Jae in a statement. “Now, we’re thrilled to be collaborating together on this new concept bringing in some favorites from Yakitori Jinbei while making this new adventure all its own.”

Jinbei’s over 2,000-square-foot space will feature an eight-seat sushi bar and an intimate dining room with seating for over 40 guests. The dining room will be evocative of a traditional Japanese eatery. Off the dining room, the anticipated outdoor patio will include tables for over 20 guests to enjoy their meal alfresco.
