The restaurant first welcomed guests, at 2228 East Main Street in the Snellville Plaza Shopping Center, as of 11 a.m. Monday morning.

Grecian Gyro opened its flagship Hapeville location 36 years ago, according to a press release Monday.

“My father [Nick Koulouris] emigrated to the US with the dream of creating a better life for himself and his family, opening the first Grecian Gyro in Hapeville in 1982,” George Koulouris, president, and co-owner of Grecian Gyro said in the release.

“Thirty-five years later, we still feel like we’re living the American dream, and are so happy to be joining the Snellville community. We’ve already received a warm welcome from our neighbors.”

The menu is comprised of Greek and Mediterranean specialties including gyros and plates, Greek salads, Grecian potatoes, spanakopita, hummus, and more.

Each Grecian Gyro location serves lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday for dine-in, takeout, and catering.

All of the restaurant’s food is chopped and prepared in-house, sauces are made from scratch, meats are hormone-free, and many ingredients are locally sourced.

Each restaurant also contributes to the community by sponsoring school teams, free holiday meals for those in need, and collecting supplies for humanitarian efforts.

“We’re lucky to have a few employees who have been with us for more than 20 years,” Koulouris said.

“They understand how much our brand values community and really take the lead on some of our community outreach.”
