Originally situated in space now occupied by Kevin Gillespie’s Revival in Decatur, the reborn Taqueria El Tesoro later this year will open in the Edgewood neighborhood of Atlanta.

When reached by What Now Atlanta (WNA) via phone Monday, Raines was on location, at 1374 Arkwright Pl SE, awaiting an equipment order for the forthcoming restaurant.

“I started developing a new name but decided not to reinvent the wheel after investing so much time and energy in creating the Taqueria El Tesoro brand in the first place,” Raines said.

Taqueria El Tesoro could open as early as November.

Construction to the counter-service eatery is well underway.

The restaurant will “open early for coffee, espresso, taco, and burros,” and lunch will “expand with quesadillas, tamales and more.”

“Down the road, we will expand to full service dinner and bar,” according to the company’s Facebook page.

WNA has emailed Raines as a follow up to our call requesting more information.
