German Rodriguez, president of Amorino U.S., alongside wife Giada Merlin and partner Mohammed Saleh, are bringing the specialty gelato purveyor to Founders Hall.

“Myself and my wife since moving to the U.S. from Italy have been working on bringing some Italian excellence in food to the U.S.,” Rodriguez told What Now Atlanta. The three-person team currently owns five boutiques stateside. “Amorino is the most iconic Gelato brand in Europe and has grown over the last two decades becoming a part of everyone’s holidays in Europe as well as being recognized for the beautiful gelato roses we shape our gelatos as.”

Amorino’s development in the U.S. is very “limited and exclusive and is aimed to bring a little of Italy to U.S.,” Rodriguez said. “We are opening exclusively in locations we believe represent well the European dining and entertaining life style — boutiques in open-air, nice dining, walking, and shopping areas available to all for afternoon and late-night walks. We bring to our communities a gathering place to enjoy high quality all natural Italian gelato. We are part of the continued shift towards healthier, more natural and higher quality products in the ice cream market. Amorino has done so beautifully in stunningly designed stores since he first opening in Paris in 2001.”

Amorino’s Founders Hall outpost is one of several in the pipeline. In the Atlanta area, the company owns a kiosk in Lenox Square mall but plans call for a “full store” in the city in the future. “The Atlanta metro area has some unique and stunning communities we would like to be a part of in the future too, but we are looking forward to get our Alpharetta store up and running soon.”
