Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q owners Jonathan and Justin Fox began their careers in barbecue hosting backyard parties for friends and family at their Brookhaven home, honing their skills on the smoker, in a quest to recreate the authentic quality of barbecue they grew up enjoying in Texas.

“Opening in Brookhaven feels like a homecoming for my brother and I,” Jonathan Fox said in a press release. “We decided to call it Fox Brothers Barbecue as a tribute to those early days, while going back to our roots with the elements of classic Texas barbecue culture and the flavors that we grew up with.”

The brothers are opening the new location with partner Beau Nolen.

The smokehouse is outfitted with three custom-made 1,000-gallon Mill Scale off-set smokers from Lockhart Texas and an M&M rotisserie, where hundreds of pounds of prime Certified Angus Beef are to be seasoned and smoked.

Guests will order from a traditional meat counter where proteins like brisket, pork, ribs, turkey and house-made sausage will be weighed by the pound and sliced to order.

Side items include sautéed green beans topped with fried shallots; pinto beans with crema and pico de gallo; brisket chili with crema, diced onion and cheese; and white cheddar mac and broccoli salad with green goddess dressing, toasted pepitas and cotija. Guests can round out their orders with slices of Texas Birthday Cake or Butterscotch Pudding topped with toffee crunch and bananas.

Beer, canned cocktails and canned wines, as well as soft drinks and tea, will be available to grab for those dining in, with the option to order more drinks, sides or desserts, via QR-code once seated at a table. The indoor dining area has seating for 70 people, with a patio offering additional seating for up to 40.

While the team looks to initially focus on in-person ordering only, guests can look forward to online orders via their website, rolling out in the coming months.

“We know that the neighborhood has been excited for us to finally open and we are very appreciative of their patience along the way,” Justin Fox said in the press release. “We can’t wait to welcome guests this fall and look forward to seeing this location develop its own neighborhood feel that we’ve always enjoyed growing at our restaurants.”

Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q has two existing full-service locations in Atlanta at 1238 Dekalb Avenue and 204 Chattahoochee Row NW, as well as a grab-and-go option at the Fox Bros. Que-osk located at 120 Ottley Drive NE. Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q is also available at the Terrapin Taproom at Truist Park.

The Brookhaven location is open Tuesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. until sellout.
