The Works, a development from Selig, is an 80-acre historic industrial site with retail, dining, and entertainment offerings.

The 9,300 square-foot restaurant is the second location for the barbecue joint having opened the flagship location almost 14 years ago. “Jonathan and Justin spent nearly four years searching for the perfect location for their second full-service restaurant,” according to a press release Wednesday.

“We’re finally smoking on the Westside!, ” Jonathan Fox said. “While this past year has been incredibly challenging for everyone, it’s definitely a bright spot to be able to open and create a space with our customers in mind. More seating, new offerings, and plenty of parking!”

Situated across from The Work’s one-acre canopy park, The Camp, the Westside location, designed by Seiber Design, nearly doubles the size of the original restaurant with 258-seats.

The 52-seat private dining room, adjacent to the main dining room, can be divided in two for smaller groups and functions while still capturing the energy of the dining room with hand-painted murals of Texas roadhouses.

The 34-seat indoor/outdoor bar space is the perfect spot for viewing the restaurant’s smokehouse featuring custom J&R Oyler and Moberg smokers, offering guests a behind-the-scenes look into the carefully smoked meats cooked daily to order.

Serving its known menu, the Westside outpost will have its own “specialties” like the Texas Turkey Sandwich, the Carl Ruiz Smoked Bologna Sandwich, and the Foxy Melt (patty melt) featuring two Prime Certified Angus Beef Brisket patties, cheese, caramelized onions, and poblanos on rye with beef fat dijonnaise.

“This location is an opportunity for us to roll out projects that we’ve always wanted to offer at Dekalb but haven’t been able to do so because of space limitations,” Fox said. “From expanding the menu to the grab-and-go barbecue, we’re excited to finally be able to expand our capabilities and offerings for our guests.”

The beverage menu will introduce new cocktails as well as a variety of rotating draft and canned beers, and wine varietals. Cocktails include the Tom Kreuz featuring gin, lemon, blackberry liqueur and seltzer as well as a Red River Rye Julep with Pinhook Rye, mint and black tea. In the coming months, the bar menu will introduce frozen twists on the Fox Bros. favorite watermelon margarita as well as a grapefruit paloma.

Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q is open as of Wednesday, August 11, Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
