[Exclusive] ‘The Morning X’ Has Returned, Will Interview Tiger King’s John Finlay

Join Barnes, Leslie, and Jimmy daily at 10 a.m. on the airways during Georgia's shelter-in-place order.

The original three hosts of “The Morning X” on 99x have reunited for the second time since the show went off the air (the first was in October 2017 for the 99x 25th anniversary), and all it took was a worldwide pandemic.

Barnes, Leslie, and Jimmy by way of streaming video and audio podcasts are hosting several new weekly episodes and filing in the gaps with “best of” The Morning X episodes.

The daily 10 a.m. show will last the entirety of Georgia’s shelter-in-place order, or as Barnes called it in an email to What Now Atlanta (WNA) Friday, “lockdown.”

“We’ve got nothing better to do so we decided to put the show back together and have some fun,” Barnes wrote.

“It’s amazing to me how the chemistry just comes right back together. I look forward to each of the new shows. We phoned it in for over 10 years so these shows are right on par”

On Monday, April 13, the trio will have Clark Howard on the show and on Thursday, April 16, tune in to catch up with Tiger King’s John Finlay (promo vid below).

Starting in May the show will shift to one live video per week and two “best of” shows for as long as the three can work with each other’s schedules.

“We remembered how we were able to be a small comfort during tragic times like 9/11 and the Olympic Bombing in Atlanta, so this just felt like the right thing to do during this pandemic,” Leslie Fram told WNA.

“Our hope is to make a few people laugh or smile and take away their anxiety during this time.”
