Twisted Soul Cookhouse has found a new home in West Midtown, taking over the space currently occupied by Bone Lick BBQ, the once Decatur-situated restaurant in a press release Thursday announced. Bone Lick BBQ’s last day on the Westside is Sunday, August 14.

“Chef Deborah VanTrece will bring an updated look and new energy to her restaurant that became a neighborhood favorite in Decatur,” according to the release.

“Sporting a new logo and suffix, Twisted Soul Cookhouse & Pours will retain elements of her previous restaurant’s menu and much of the staff will return.”

The new Cookhouse, slated to open in late November 2016, will keep its modern-Southern focus “peppered with global influences from VanTrece’s lifetime of travel.”

“Twisted Soul is about doing things the right way, not necessarily the easy way,” VanTrece said in the release.

“That’s why we fry our chicken a few pieces at a time in cast iron skillets, and why we were able to keep many of the people who worked with us at the original location. With the new space in such a fun, progressive neighborhood with plenty of great restaurants, we’re looking forward to adding our take on Southern cooking to the mix.”

Reopening Twisted Soul adds to Chef VanTrece’s list of ventures, including a catering business, the Catering Company by VanTrece.

Twisted Soul will be located at 1133 Huff Rd NW in Atlanta’s West Midtown neighborhood. The restaurant, formerly in Decatur, closed its doors Dec. 30, 2015.

  1. Twisted Soul as we knew it was a spot where I took all my out of town guests. I can’t wait for the sisters to re-open their new spot. The new location is great. Hopefully they will have an opening celebration! Congratulations, Ladies!

  2. From day one the proprietors of Twisted Soul have treated me and others I know like we were old friends. The food is ridiculous. The cocktails are always creative. I have as yet to go there and not have an awesome experience. I look forward to this new location and the warm atmosphere that Deborah, Lorraine and their crew create. Great food. Great drinks. Superb service and a warm atmosphere. Twisted Soul has been missed and I am so grateful for its return. It is no longer a well-kept secret. I am excited for the success that is already coming for them. Crab cakes, fried chicken, sweet tea moonshine. Oh boy.
