Matt Coggin, the restaurateur and barbecue enthusiast behind Virginia-Highland’s DBA Barbecue, Friday soft-opened a second location, a spokesperson for the restaurant shared exclusively with What Now Atlanta.
Situated in Buckhead, the new DBA replaces Greater Good BBQ, at 4441 Roswell Rd NE, near Chastain Park.
“A fast-casual concept featuring a comfortable dining room and patio, guests can expect a scaled down version of the original Virginia-Highland location’s expansive menu,” the spokesperson wrote in an email. Traditional, hickory-smoked barbecue offerings include pork, brisket, chicken, turkey, wings and sides along with beer, wine and cocktails.
“We’re thrilled our second location is officially opened on the heels of our 14th anniversary of our original location,” Coggin said in a prepared statement. “We look forward to getting to know the surrounding communities neighbors, and making new friends as we welcome loyal patrons to our newest offering.”
DBA Barbecue’s new outpost is open Tuesday through Sunday for lunch and dinner and to-go. It is the second location for the restaurant which got its start in Virginia-Highland 14 years ago.
Coggin isn’t stopping with the Buckhead expansion. The restaurateur in fall 2023 will also open DBA Tacos and BBQ in Clarkston on East Ponce de Leon Ave, as previously reported by What Now Atlanta. The 2,600-square foot space will feature an airy, window-filled environment with a clean design and boast plenty of parking. While dine-in service will be available, the focus will also be on takeout, which includes major renovation to the existing drive-thru.
