DBA Barbecue’s sister eatery DBA Sandwich Company has received all of its permits and will officially open for business on Wednesday, December 30, a spokesperson Monday confirmed in an email to What Now Atlanta. DBA Sandwich Company is housed in the Irwin Street Market right on the BeltLine, at 660 Irwin St NE.

The small, takeaway-only restaurant will include DBA Barbecue’s smoked meats for deli-style sandwiches and sides, including Turkey BLT, Reuben, Pot Roast Hoagie, and more. Additional menu items include salads and sides like coleslaw, potato salad, mac & cheese, pimento cheese with “Fire Crackers” and boiled peanuts.

‘The main focus of DBA Sandwich Company is its takeaway, allowing guests to be socially distant and safe,” the spokesperson said. “They can pop-in during a lunch break while working from home, walking on the BeltLine for some fresh air, grab their favorite DBA Barbecue comfort eats, and head-home. Prices are affordable for today’s economy as well and work best for folks who want to grab a quick sandwich or salad and a soft drink.”

For New Year’s Day, DBA Sandwich Company will offer a special “A Little Luck” with a slider version of a Pork Sandwich and a small side dish consisting of both collards and black-eyed peas for $8. Full-size of the sandwich and sides is $14.

“We opened DBA Barbecue in February 2009, in the height of the recession, and now we’re opening DBA Sandwich Company during a worldwide pandemic,” Owner Matt Coggin said in a prepared statement. “Last year on New Year’s Eve, the entire front of DBA Barbecue fell off into the parking lot, rendering our entrance unusable for several days. A year to-the-day, we’re opening our new restaurant. I guess tough times are kind of our most fortuitous times, and opening DBA Sandwich Company is a nice way to book-end the year.”

Hours for this coming week are Wednesday, December 30 and Thursday, December 31 from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., then Friday, January 1 and Saturday, January 2 from noon to 8:30 p.m., and Sunday, January 3 from noon to 8 p.m. Planned regular hours are Wednesday and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
