However, with prime real estate on the line, the King + Duke building isn’t allegedly planning to be vacant for long. Apparent reports suggest that owner Fares Kargar will open another Delbar restaurant in the soon-to-be vacant King +Duke building.

Request for details from Ford Fry and Fares Kargar were answered but yielded no comment. Nevertheless, Delbar’s website includes an announcement for a coming soon Buckhead location.

If reports pan out as accurate, Delbar could soon open its doors in One Buckhead Plaza at 3060 Peachtree Rd NW, Atlanta, GA 30305.

Delbar is a Middle Eastern restaurant and bar offering a menu of classic Persian cuisine with Israeli, Turkish, and Lebanese touches.

Translating to ‘heart, captured’ in Farsi, Delbar was created as a love letter to the influential dishes inspired by Kagar’s youth, paying homage to the women in his life who instilled in him a deep appreciation for Middle Eastern cooking.

According to a previous report from What Now Atlanta, Kargar is from Gorgan, Iran, and grew up in the kitchen, cooking beside his mother, grandmother, and aunts. When he decided to launch Delbar, he was quickly reminded of the large family gathers of up to 30 guests enjoying timeless traditional dishes.

Kagar left Iran and honed his culinary skills in Turkey. He would then move to the United States and earn a degree in culinary arts, eventually opening Delbar in its first location in Inman Park.

Delbar recently opened a restaurant in Alpharetta earlier this year.
