A building permit application was filed with City of Atlanta this week to begin construction on the soon-to-open retail store and coffee joint, at 501 Edgewood Avenue NE.

“The coffee shop is going to be separate from the retail portion with its own operating hours,” Kyle Taylor told What Now Atlanta (WNA) in a telephone conversation Tuesday.

The 2,200-square-foot space will be split in equal parts for the retail and coffee shop portions of Chrome Yellow (1,100 square feet each).

The current Westside Provisions District boutique (situated between West Egg and Yoforia) started as a holiday pop-up in November. The Taylors extended their lease through the end of March because of Chrome Yellow’s success, and will remain open in West Midtown until the new location is complete.

Chrome Yellow should open in time for spring if all goes well with the permitting process, Taylor said.
